There is such a diverse selection of activities and attractions in and around Marloth Park, many of which are internationally acclaimed. The first of these is obviously the iconic Kruger National Park. Visiting the Kruger is a MUST and we highly recommend booking one of our luxury safaris, brought to you in collaboration with Foxy Crocodile Bush Retreat.

Other favorites include:

  • Golfing at a choice of top local golf courses.
  • Botanical Gardens – Nelspruit is home to beautiful Botanical Gardens – perfect for a picnic.
  • Nelspruit has several malls which will please the desires of any experienced shopper.
  • Chimp Eden – A Chimp Sanctuary in Barberton. Tours are at 10 am, 12 pm, and 14 pm daily.
  • Tiger Fishing – Excursions from 6 am – 11 am, or 1 pm – 6 pm daily, on the Komati River.
  • Sunset and Bird-watching Cruises – Komati River (3 Hours).
  • Animal Sanctuaries: Moholoholo and Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (pre-booking essential).
  • Another world-famous destination in our vicinity is the Sudwala Caves near Nelspruit. Widely believed to be the world’s oldest caves, they boast exceptional rock formations and even a massive amphitheater. This attraction also has a fish spa, butterfly experience, and Dinosaur Park.

For those who love Horse Riding, rides can be arranged in a beautiful natural setting less than 100km away.

Panorama Day Tour

Discover the world-famous  Panorama Route, including the world’s biggest Green Canyon, the Blyde River Canyon.

The guide will collect you from African Bush Adventurers & Escape between 6:00 and 6:30 am and bring you back to the backpackers between 18:00 and 18:30 pm. A light lunch is included at Harries Pancakes.

Swaziland Day Tour

Itinerary:

Mantenga Cultural Village ~
Visit the only tourist facility in Swaziland with its own fully-fledged permanent troupe and authentic Swazi cultural and dancing experience. There are two performances each day, at 11:30 am and at 15:15 pm. 

The Maguga Dam ~
At 115 metres (377 ft) high, the Maguga Damis found on the Komati River, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) south of Piggs Peak. Built as a joint project of the governments of South Africa and Eswatini, this beautiful dam was awarded also prestigious engineering accolades.

Swaziland Candle Factory ~
An expedition to Swazi Candles is not just a candle experience. The candle factory is surrounded by other talented crafters, artists and artisans as well as a bustling market and souvenir shops, where guests can purchase world-class candles and curios.

Ngwenya Glass Blowing Factory ~
Boasts a vast range of tableware and African animals, from classical to quirky wineglasses, large center pieces and one-off pieces made in this renowned glass blowing factory. The animal range covers the big five: Elephants, Leopards, Buffalo, Rhinos and Lions, in addition to a whole range of aquatic and airborne animals. The main attraction is watching the glass blowers creating wonderful animal figurines and tableware using 100% recycled glass.

Maputo, the capital of Mozambique is a destination steeped in history, world-famous architecture, and rich culture. Itinerary:

Fortress
A national historical monument related to the history of the Portuguese presence in Mozambique and the relations and resistance offered by the locals. The history of Maputo Fortress dates back to the late 18th century.

History Museum
The National History Museum of Maputo is an interesting building to admire primarily for its architecture. It reflects a Portuguese neo-Gothic style, echoing the colonial era. The structure was built in 1911.

Polana Hotel
This Mozambican hotel in Maputo is a majestic building with an illustrious history that stretches back to 1922.

Maputo Station~

It is on the CFM Sul line, which links to South Africa, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe. It was constructed from 1908 to 1916 in the Beaux-Arts style. Widely recognized for its attractiveness, the station has been ranked as one of the world’s most beautiful. In addition to serving as an active train terminus, the station contains a rail museum and food venues.

Botanical Gardens~

The gardens were designed by Englishman Thomas Honney in the late 19th Century. They enrich travelers with shade and enchanting serenity amidst beautiful sub-tropical surroundings.

Freedom Square~

Is a public square and focal point of Maputo, Mozambique, presided over by a statue of Samora Machel, the first president of Mozambique.

Iron House (Casa de Ferro)~

Designed by Gustave Eiffel, Built of Eiffel’s signature material, cast iron and iron sheets, the house was constructed in Belgium and shipped to Mozambique where it was assembled with bolts on concrete foundations. Originally intended for the governor’s residence but never occupied, the house now provides a home for an amateur writers’ association.
